Research interest

In our current research projects, we investigate the influence of stress and its physiological mediators on extinction learning (SFB 1280), episodic memory (FOR 2812), quality of emotional memories, memory retrieval in dependence of sex hormone status as well as cognitive emotion regulation (DFG-Projects) using behavioral, pharmacological, psychophysiological and neuroimaging techniques.

You can find a detailed description of each project here: Current projects

Methods

  • Behavioral learning and memory paradigms
  • Stress induction in the laboratory
  • Psychophysiological techniques (skin conductance and pupillometrie)
  • Neuroimaging (fMRI and EEG)
  • Endocrine measurements (e.g. salivary and hair cortisol)

Please notice that projects usually involve interaction with German-speaking participants. Therefore, in most cases sufficient German skills are required.
